THERE IS METHOD TO OUR VALUES-BASED HIRING MADNESS.
IMPLICIT ASSOCIATION and RESPONSE LATENCY
Implicit Association Testing (IAT) measures provide an indication of an individuals immediate, instinctual, intuitive and subconscious responses to a set of beliefs, attitudes, values, norms or behaviours. Free from the biases of conscious rationalization and choice, this implicit measure offers a deep, emotional-level indicator of values. Implicit assessment provides insight into subconscious thoughts, feelings and influences that are inaccessible to conscious introspection included in interviews and self-assessment testing.
Both Implicit and Response Time Testing are backed up by over 20 years of scientific research and provides an accurate, stable and effective alternative to psychometrics, where it’s primary advantage is bypassing self report biases and human self report error. These responses are also instant, culturally sensitive, and provide accurate indicators of the strength of a disposition.
A disposition is an implicit emotional and attitudinal relationship to a value, belief, ethical/moral position, a set of behaviors and social/cultural norms. The dispositional relationship may be broadly quantified as either low/weak or high/strong. A disposition is stable state which can be affected by deliberate positive/negative interventions, major events and life changes, large scale organizational change or top-down influences.
